An Exhibition of the work of Intermediate Studio 7 run by Tomorrows Thoughts Today’s Liam Young and Kate Davies from Liquid Factory will be opening Friday 26th February in the Architectural Association’s Back members room. The exhibition titled ‘Where the Wild Things Are…’ will run until the 27th March. Update: Exhibition photos have been added below.

This year Inter 7 are trawling the wilds of genetic modification, augmented bodies and neo-biological invention to query today’s idealistic and preservationist views of the natural world. For 3 weeks Inter 7 voyaged south, as ‘archaeologists of the future’, following Darwin’s expedition to the Galapagos Islands and South America. They have explored the Amazon and its poisoned oil towns and the living laboratory of the Galapagos Islands that once inspired the treatise on the Origin of the Species. Here the unit are re-imagining the quiet mysteries of wilderness through encounters with the novel reality of engineered ‘monsters’ and manufactured landscapes. The ancient and fragile wilderness of the Galapagos will be the setting for Inter 7’s major project and the site for their visions of near future evolutions. This exhibition is a collection of their photos, field journals and fragments of mutated architectures.
